Saint Aubin is an appellation created in 1937,although there is a record of viticulture in the area as far back as the 3rd century AD, for red and white wines [two-thirds are white] from the commune of Saint Aubin on the Cotes de Beaune in Burgundy close to Puligny-Montrachet. The whites are made of chardonnay and the reds of pinot noir
