Corton Grand Cru is an appellation created in 1937 for both red and white wines [though over 90%are red] from 95 hectares on the Corton hill in the Cotes de Beaune in Burgundy.It is the only grand cru appellation for red wines on the Cotes de Beaune and it overlaps the Corton-Charlemange and Charlemange grand crus which are also on the Corton hill
