  • Philippe Colin Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru les Vergers 2010

    Snoothrank:

Slight hint of oak on the nose is quickly replaced with citrus/lychee scents. Quite light-bodied on introduction to the palate. Very serious lemon/tropical tartness. A very refreshing but not very complex wine. Acid tartness makes it refreshing, but in needs more substance to balance all that acid. Read More

  • A ridiculous number of trigger pullworthies in this new offering, many in their absolute drinking prime. Wish the shop was just down the street from me, rather than the ones that are. But then I'd have to live in NYC.  ;-(I love it when a guy drops 100 cases on a shop, just to 'make some space" in his cellar. Wonder what's going to be filling th... Read More

  • Domaine Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru 'Clos Saint-Jean' 2008

    Snoothrank:

A beautiful pinot noir that seems to encompass all the best of the old and new worlds. Bright fruit in a lively, toned wine is supported by lots of complexity and depth (tobacco and leather notes). Lots of supple tannin and well balanced acidity. Medium - long length. Quite substantial and complex for a pinot noir, this is really a beautiful wine. Read More
