  I bought this wine based on a review. What a mistake. This tastes like a wine I would pay no more than $6 a bottle for, not the $20 that I did. Someone wrote a very misleading review! Or maybe it was good at one point but has started to "turn" when I bought in January 2010.

Had with pasta and veal parmagiano (very very very good food match) complemented the mozzorella cheese extremely well...all in all a good Burgundy (I paid $24 for it a little over a year ago) Stored in cellar temp controlled (58 - 62 deg F) not moved for 3 months I would rate this wine a 93 , excellent stylistically, price wise, and complex, I enjoy complex wines, even ones which may be very subtle, as many Burgundies are. Mercurey is not my favorite AOC in Burgundy but htis is a good, affordable example.    (hide)

  Domaine Parigot Cremant de Bourgogne Blanc de Blancs

  Chalk, mint, and hazelnut oil all combine on the deft and defined nose. In the mouth this is cool and crisp with a layered mid-palate that has soft fruit backed up with lemon oil and mint tones that roll onto the moderately long finish. 88pts

  citrus filled with apples, pears, lemons, and a little red grapefruit, crisp acidity, and the toast and yeast features combined with the bright fruit is wonderful.
