Côte Chalonnaise on Snooth

October 2009

Peaches on the nose. In the mouth the acidity comes through and limes dominate. Good use of oak, combines with the minerality. Lots of rich, sweet fruit, and the acid make this wine big. Finishes on notes of bay leaf

Jm Boillot Rully Chatalienne 2007

Starting at $25.99 Snoothrank: 3/5

A nose of hazlenuts and delicate buttered popcorn. Fresh acidity to balance the buttered popcorn that continues into a long finish.

Joseph Drouhin Rully Blanc 2007

Starting at $9.09 Snoothrank: 4/5

Kind of a lush musky drink with well established fruit and a crisp citric bite. Very enjoyable to drink on its own.

Jean-Pierre Charton Vieilles Vignes Mercurey 2006

Starting at $26.00 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

Strawberries, blueberries and other red fruits on the nose, crisp and bright and acidic in the mouth with unripe cherry flavors and a hint of oak.

Jean-Pierre Charton Vieilles Vignes Mercurey 2006

Starting at $26.00 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

Rich nose of cherries and leather. Very mineral, with tart cherry flavors and raspberry notes. Nice toffee notes on the finish.

Jean-Pierre Charton Vieilles Vignes Mercurey 2006

Starting at $26.00 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

Powdery strawberry nose with a little fungal funk. Light and delicate in the mouth with a tannic woodsy vibe. Very well balanced.

Jean-Pierre Charton Vieilles Vignes Mercurey 2006

Starting at $26.00 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

an herbal-ness to the wine, aromas, of red fruit, rasberries and herbs, on the palate a little more darker, rustic woodsy, a tad funky in a delicious way, with subtle tannins on the finish

Jean-Pierre Charton Vieilles Vignes Mercurey 2006

Starting at $26.00 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

A wine of some character with good balance of acidity and residual sugar. Strawberry and fruit preserves with medium depth, concentration and finish. For a mid-rank Burgundy, most satisfying!

pale yellow color. lemon, some tropical fruit, herbaceous flavour. fresh acidity without oak. not my type.

A. et P. de Villaine Aligote Bouzeron 2007

Starting at $18.79 Snoothrank: 3/5

Fresh with a bit of fruit, light color delightful with grilled meat
