  • Domaine des Terres Dorees Moulin-a-Vent 2011

This property is known for producing fruity, sensual Beaujolais and does not disappoint here: the Moulin-a-Vent has a fresh, deep crushed cherry-pomegranate nose that transitions to an elegant cherry-cream and roast poultry effect on the palate. The finish is very clean and long. A very fine wine for the price. 90 points. Read More

  • @ DMCKER:Okay. IMHO, the best red swiss wines are made from either Pinot Noir or Merlot.. Graped like Gamaret, Reichensteiner, Gamay one cen IMHO forget. Surely, one can find an exception (and I know exceptions, but they are confirmiing the rule).Gamays (like e.g. Moulin-ä-Vent in the Beaujolais region) are tendentionally better than swiss Gamay... • Joseph Faiveley Moulin-a-Vent 2009

Robe noir - almost completely opaque; nose reminiscent of Pinot Noir with cherry, strawberry and damp earth - but with somewhat greater depth. Silky smooth on entry with no heat and typical medium finish. Wonderful Beaujolais cru from a good vintage and one of the best for the price. 90 points. Read More

  • Any angelinos out there know of a store that offers more than a SINGLE bottle of beaujolais-villages on their shelves?  I've been able to come across a Burgaud Regnie at Red Carpet in Glendale, but I really want to get out there and try some of the great cru's like Moulin-a-Vent and Morgon. thanks!Xander Read More

Meaty with sour/bitter cherry core. These are the more powerful Beaujolais cru, offering some ageability and the meaty character is why. I found this to still be lighter and easier than others I have had, perhaps due to a year or two more in the bottle before consumption.- Tasted at Marché Bacchus 3/13/10 Read More
