  • What varietals do you think would match my fruit-driven palette well, such as Saint Amour, Morgon, Moulin-a-Vent and Brouilly?  My budget limit is $25.Not sure what that means. All of those are crus in the Beaujolais region. The grape variety (varietal is an adjective) is going to be Gamay or Chardonnay. So all of them will be the same. The diff... Read More

The finish is very clean and long. A very fine wine for the price. 90 points. Read More

  • Joseph Faiveley Moulin-a-Vent 2009

Robe noir - almost completely opaque; nose reminiscent of Pinot Noir with cherry, strawberry and damp earth - but with somewhat greater depth. Silky smooth on entry with no heat and typical medium finish. Wonderful Beaujolais cru from a good vintage and one of the best for the price. 90 points. Read More

Crozet 1962 Moulin a Vent Carquelin--This one appears to be a Beaujolais. Unlabeled Magnum -- Importer's label indicates that it is Red Bordeaux Table Wine and the importer is Ezra Webb of Montebello, CA . This one really cracks me up--Monk Ekkehard 1978 Cotes du Roussill...
