Morgon is one of the crus of Beaujolais. Like the other crus, it’s located in the hilly vineyards of northern Beaujolais. The area produces dense, long-lived wines that can approach the quality of red Burgundy. An especially excellent vineyard in Morgon is the Cote de Py.

Morgon on Snooth

  • Good points.BTW - that Morgon by JP Brun is a really good place to start. Good wine. And it ages.France is a good place to start, but it's not the be all and end all, nor is Bordeaux or Burgundy. In fact, there are many places in France that are far more interesting than either of those and that can keep you occupied for the rest of your life. N... Read More

  • What varietals do you think would match my fruit-driven palette well, such as Saint Amour, Morgon, Moulin-a-Vent and Brouilly?  My budget limit is $25.Not sure what that means.
