Pomerol Wine

Pomerol is a commune on the right bank of the Dordogne, in Bordeaux. Most of the producers here are relatively small. Merlot is the most important variety here, followed by Cabernet Franc. The commune is the home of Ch. Petrus. Interestingly, Pomerol has refused any official ranking or classification of its wines.

In Pomerol they sometimes lay sheets of plastic on the ground to prevent water from seeping into the soil if they are going to have a rainy harvest. • Château la Cabanne 2010

    Snoothrank:

Less ripe on the nose, complex but savory with a hint of coffee sweetness but overall rather herbal. Lighter styled, and a bit tight in the mouth with some fruit showing but this feels austere in the mouth and without much flesh. Dry, with some fresh fruit on the finish but then turning quite dry again. 85pts Read More
