Pauillac Wine

Pauillac

Pauillac is a commune in Bordeaux which is situated in the Medoc. Cabernet Sauvignon is the grape variety that dominates the wines here. Though it encompasses only 1200 ha, Pauillac boasts three of the five First Growths of the Medoc. These are Lafite, Latour, and Mouton-Rothschild.

  • Drink it. Unless you can prove beyond doubt it was cellared that for the last 40 years in a temperature and humidty controlled environment it won't fetch much in the open market. Personally I'd be kinda po'd if I saved a wine for my kid and when I gave it to him he tried to flip it. C'est la vie.http://www.winebid.com is a good place to start. Read More

  • Grand Puy Lacoste Pauillac 2013

    Snoothrank:

The 2013 Grand-Puy-Lacoste is ready to roll now; the nose is of blackberry, vanilla and smoke (from oak barrels), and the entry is has the slightest pucker and oak flavour, but is smooth and perfect for red meat dishes, with a bit of lead pencil on the palet. Finish is quite long for the vintage. Delicious, but drink now through 2018. 89-90. Read More
