Entre-Deux-Mers Wine

The region’s name, which means “between two seas,” refers to its location between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers. Entre-Deux-Mers is best known for inexpensive dry white wines, but is producing reds of increasing quality and value, such as Cadillac and the generic appellations Bordeaux and Bordeaux Superieur.

  • Chateau Bonnet Bordeaux Rouge 2014

The Bonnet Rouge (Lurton stable, as Hugh Johnson might put it) is a very decent, mass produced Bordeaux A. C. - there is spicy blackberry and perhaps sweet plum on the nose, and following entry, the wine has sweet cherry, cedar plank and mild lignin (oak). Rich and quite satisfying for regular A. C. - one of the best for the price, methinks. Ig... Read More

  • Chateau Belvue Bordeaux France 'Cuvee L' Emotion' 2015

while I am torn as to when one should use stainless steel vating V/S the Oak, in this case it would not have mattered as the cab-sab/malbec overwhelmed the merlot/cab franc. Read More

  • Chateau Dolibey Entre Deux Mers 1988

I bought this bottle of wine for £3 from the website ... is from the Entre Deux Mers appellation. This appellation was established in 1937 for white wines from 'between the seas ' ie the tidal estuarys of the Garonne and Dordogne. This is a very large area and it overlaps a number of other appellations such as Cadillac,Loupiac and Premier Cotes d... • Andre Lurton Chateau Bonnet Blanc Rv Aoc Entre-Deux-Mers Bordeaux France 2009

Hmmm. I would not have thought that a 2009 would last this long from Entre-du-Mers, but last it did. Wonderful confit fruit on the nose and palate... not unlike an Aussie (aged) Semillon. I picked up a few of these on sale and should have chosen more. The Lurton pedigree shows... 87 points. Read More

  • Chateau de l'Aubrade Entre Deux Mers Blanc 2014

Austere aromas of lemon and peach with a tart citrus note. Similarly citrusy in the mouth, with lemon pith and grapefruit flavors taking a front seat, some golden berries and even some more herbal notes of tea leaf and grass towards the finish. Fresh and zesty throughout, this ends with a bit of mellow cream.90 pts Read More

  • Chateau Grand Renom Blanc 2014

This is the freshest, most zingy, leafy and fun Sauvignon Blanc I have had for the price from Entre-Deux-Mers. It is also quite New World without the spritz and floral aspect one gets from (say) Marlborough NZ. Clean, but with French gravitas - the wine has gooseberry and lawn grass notes on the palate. Very good value from France. Good acid... Read More

  • Andre Lurton Chateau Bonnet Entre Deux Mers 2011

An excellent light and gently fruity white wine. Not too dry and pairs well with just sitting in a summer breeze and relaxing your cares away. I love this wine very chilled on hot summer evenings. It is remarkable and easily one of my very favorite wines. Well done Andre Lurton! Read More
