Canon-Fronsac is located on the “right bank” of Bordeaux’s Dordogne river, not far from Pomerol and Saint-Emilion. Sometimes labeled Cotes-Canon-Fronsac, these wines can be of excellent quality and represent a great source of value for lovers of those more famous communes. The grape varieties used, in order of importance, are Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec.

Very nice young merlot based Bordeaux. Deep purple color, loads of dark berries, smooth and fine tannins and nice lingering finish. No hint of mustiness that you can get from some merlot, just a nice bit of freshness and a good touch of acidity. Read More
