Cotes du Bourg is a part of Bordeaux that has supported both settlements and vineyards for far, far longer than the Medoc. The Romans planted these limestone hills centuries ago. This area is much better known for its very good reds, made from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec, though a tiny amount of white wine is made from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle, and a maximum of 10% Chenin Blanc.
