It's actually pretty outstanding especially at this price point!!

Chateau d'Argadens 2005

Starting at $13.79 Snoothrank: 3/5

had been open for a day when i tasted - nose of jammy stewed black fruit with sweet herbal undertone; palate follows the nose with juicy black fruit flavors and medium tannin -- tastes better than than it smells, not bad

tasted blind - deep ruby core to thin, bright ruby rim; aromas of dark raspberry, strawberry, orange peel and a touch of oak; lush red fruit on the palate with a heavy tannin structure -- a little out of whack, cellar for...

October 2009

tasted blind - opaque ruby core to deep garnet rim; black fruits, sweet herbs, pencil lead, gravel; well balanced palate that follows the nose, complemented by silky tannins and a persistent finish -- great value for bordeax

Excellent bang for the buck: Nice balance, lingering finish, good nose, pleasing in the glass. Agree w/ Zachy's fruit profile: black cherry/blackberry. Still young. Grab some if you find it.

Valmengaux 2005

Had several wines from this region while in France, and particularly enjoyed the Chateau Saint Antoine 2005 vintage. Fruitier than some from the region but mellow as well. Still experimenting with these wines . .
