A hill in Moslavia in the north was named Mons Claudius to honor the Emperor, who planted many vineyards there. As Christianity spread throughout Europe during the Middle Ages, Croatia wholly embraced the movement. As a result, vineyards were protected during the Ottoman rule because Muslim law made allowances for sacramental wines. Such was the significance of wine that a 1407 statue in Korcula has an inscription stating that landholders will lose their profits and have their right hand cut off for neglecting vineyards! • Kozlovic Malvazija 2005

Deep bright 18k yellow with aromas of cooked pineapple and toasted nuts. On the palate, the silky texture delivers flavors of green apple, chestnuts and butter. The finish is lingering, but kind of funky...a great 'fall' wine that would pair lovely with butternut squash soup toped with a sauteed melody of caramelized onions, crushed walnuts and ...
