  • Frontera Merlot 2007

    Snoothrank:

Deep ruby color. Aromas of fruit and smoke. Taste chocolate, coffee, spice and berries. Mild tannins and a short but rich finish. This wine could compliment a rich heavy meal, light simple meal or enjoyed alone. This is the first time I have tried a carmenere but I will drink one again for sure. Good bargain wine for sure. • Anakena Carménère Rapel Valley 2007

    Snoothrank:

This wine is a 4 out of 5 for the price ($11.99). This varietal tastes like a cross between cabernet and pinot noir. This particular bottle has a great taste with soft tannins and a beautiful color. It has raspberry overtones, but is by no means fruity. Finally, it is not complex or full-bodied, which is why I'm guessing it is in the bargain bin... Read More
