Prince Edward County Vqa Wine

Prince Edward County is one of Canada's newest wine regions. As a man-made island in Lake Ontario, PEC shares many climatic similarities with its Neighboring (Onatrio) Wine Region, Niagara (a peninsula into the lake itself). But it also has many unique attributes. PEC can boast a variety of differing soils, however best known at this point for its calcium-based, clay-gravel soils (a structure similar to that of burgundy). Because of which Prince Edward County grows quite a bit of the Burgundian varietals (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Gamay). With Pinot Noir being the grape growers from around the world a flocking to the county to grow.
