  Snoothrank:

  Nose of green vegetables and limes. Another very oily Austrian wine. Finishes on a nice nuttiness with some gooseberries.

  Martinshof & Hauser Brut NV

  Snoothrank:

  A white wine, but with a much meatier, richer, nose than expected - strawberries on the nose. Very soft, with firm acids, however, there's some sugar to soften it. Finishes on soft red fruits and delicate yeast.

As a consequence, Weinviertel DAC 2007 (Grüner Veltliner) and Zweigelt 2006 - which are the most typical grape varieties of the Weinviertel, Austria - were bottled exclusively for the LifeBall on May 17, 2008 and again for the upcoming May 16, 2009 LifeBall. The labels of the LifeBall Wine show the design, which was especially created for the Life Ball Edition. Part of the revenues from every bottle of the LifeBall Wine 2009 will be added directly to the LifeBall donations, which support people with HIV/AIDS. Carlo Huber & Paul Darcy of The Austrian Wines - darcy and huber selections, said: “This is truly an amazing effort of global participation for this cause and the LifeBall wine will allow for more awareness and reach of this spectacular event!” In collaboration with Steele Travel, which been selected as the exclusive North American tour operator in providing access to the LifeBall, Europe’s, and quite possibly the world’s most extravagant HIV and AIDS benefit held annually in Vienna, Austria. Celebrating the beauty of life and the diversity of world cultures, LifeBall reinvents the great Viennese Ball tradition with glamorous, outlandish performances and inspirational speeches. Tickets to the event are nearly impossible to secure, as this is one of the most star-studded and exclusive events of the year. To date the Life Ball has raised over € 10.5 million.
