Showing noticeable evolution on the nose, with hints of caramel and oxidation laying under a nice base of raspberry reduction and hints of bay leaf, black pepper and melon rind. This is lovely on the palate, juicy, transparent, still laden with fresh raspberry fruit laced with a hint of lemon verbena and a nice earthy edge that carries the wine ... Read More

Spicy and woodsy on the nose with deep purple floral scents, lots of crushed wild blackberry and spicy blueberry fruit and a touch of something meaty and vaguely Syrah-like. Snappy on entry, with the softness and sweetness of ripeness but nicely spiky acidity keeping the palate fresh and lively. The backend reveals something a bit more chocolate... Read More

Stone fruit peach aromas a little oak, toast, and some apricot. Nice palate even with some earth. Teeny touch of residual sugar with good acid. As continued to eat it with my dish, it got milkier, oakier, smell and tasting more like a chardonnay. And then later when I went back to drink it on its own again, I retrieved the stone fruit, floral... Read More

Very steely...I almost taste little shredded steel chunks. Not much fruit...very german/austrian. Great with any food that it would normally go with. Read More

This is a touch simple but eminently drinkable and jus... Read More

A sustainably grown Pinot Noir from just south of Vienna. Stadlmann doesn't seek to emulate or imitate, so this is an honest, sophisticated and satisfying PN. Forward nose, beautiful red fruit concentration (strawberry, preserved cherries), perfect acidity and a spicy layer of peppercorns, all coming in at 12.5% abv. Definitely worth stocking up... this was a great find; the nose changes from fresh white fruits like apples and pears not very different than what a nice Riesling might smell like and changes into a slightly flinty-chalky-ocean fresh seashell note, the mouthfeel is soft, vivacious, and fresh with just the right amount of acidity at the back end. YUM! Read More

Complex delight. Helped me move away from the chains of superTuscans to a more refined inviting experience. Read More
