Kremstal Wine

Kremstal’s winemaking areas can be found in the town of Krems, in communities to the East of the town and within small villages along the Danube. Krems has a historical background of being one of Austria’s most well-respected regions and has earned its reputation as an ambassador of Austrian wine. Krems is one of the oldest winemaking areas in Austria and it holds a certain historical, artistic and cultural background that is still prominent in the region. It’s no wonder that the Sandgrube 13 visitors center, an outstanding wine school, an innovative wine cooperative, the Kloster Und wine museum and the Niederoesterreich Wine Fair can be found here. Also found within the Kremstal region is the Stift Goettweig monastery located south of the Danube in the villages Furth-Palt and Hollenburg.
