  Loimer Seeberg Langenlois Riesling 2007

  Fooled into thinking off-dry at first but, no, its crisp acid keeps the floral fruit in kilter. Layers and layers of complexity: kerosene, tobacco, minerals. Endlessly entertaining.

I bought this wine today on the recommendation of Nancy, owner of Nancy's Wines up here at 75th and Columbus. I told her that I was a Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc lover who knew little about Riesling. She recommended this bottle because it was dry and somewhat Sauvignon Blanc like. Very good call, Nancy. I really enjoy it and expect it to be my gateway into Rieslings -- a high standard for others to live up to. Highly recommended.    (hide)
