for this region?

The South West is a zone that encompasses the best known growing regions of the Western Australia state. Since most of the state is too hot for viticulture, this is the area where conditions become more temperate due to coastal influences and most of the quality wine-making is clustered, starting just south of Perth.

The regions within South West are:

    * Pemberton
    * Margaret River
    * Blackwood River Valley
    * Geographe
    * Peel
    * Perth Hills
    * Swan District

For more information about the individual districts and varietals, please see Western Australia.

    ~AUD$16. This ones got a bit of age on it, although youre very unlikely to pick it out. The current vintage is 2012. Very pale yellow tinge, fruit comes largely from the Rosetta and Hayview vineyards around Mt Barker, with 15% from the International Hill vineyards in the Frankland River region. These vines are irrigated, so given the dry growing... Read More

The soil composition is mostly gravel loam. Individual parcels of fruit were fermented on skinds for up to 30 days. Clear, intense purple ruby colour. An attractiv... Read More

    AUD$22. A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 6% Malbec. Fruit from individual batches were crushed separately into stainless steel fermentation vessels and underwent different extraction processes. The Cabernet fruit underwent a 5-day warm maceration period to maximise tannin and colour extraction. The Merlot fruit underwent cold ma... Read More

  • Vasse Felix Chardonnay Margaret River 2012

    AUD$22. Fruit was harvested and fermented as individual parcels with wild yeasts. Pressed juice was matured in French oak barrels for 9 months. Clear pale yellow with a green tinge. Youthful aromas of white peach, apple, lemon and grapefruit, slight note of struck match and clove. It doesnt have that weighty creamy impression, so Id guess minima... Read More
