for this region?

The South West is a zone that encompasses the best known growing regions of the Western Australia state. Since most of the state is too hot for viticulture, this is the area where conditions become more temperate due to coastal influences and most of the quality wine-making is clustered, starting just south of Perth.

The regions within South West are:

    * Pemberton
    * Margaret River
    * Blackwood River Valley
    * Geographe
    * Peel
    * Perth Hills
    * Swan District

For more information about the individual districts and varietals, please see Western Australia.

  • Evans & Tate Big Squeeze Shiraz 2014

    Burgundy colored with grape and/or black cherry juice hues throughout and around the edges....semi opaque. Aromas are somewhat peppery and otherwise very fruit forward....thick ripe berries and some very ripe black fruits too....the finish is of muted cinnamon spice. Flavors are ripe and of soft jammy sweetness....there are hints of the savory... Read More

  • Ferngrove Off-Dry Riesling Frankland River 2015

    Aromatic aromas of petrol and tea leaf with delicate peach and green apple up front. Carries a definite touch of sweetness in the mouth with loads of puckering acidity and lemon flavors, more petrol notes, white grape and a tropical finish with more lemon pith and some melon notes. Read More

  • Evans & Tate Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River Redbrook 2010

    Toasted almond and dark chocolate on the nose with bunches of dark fruit - blackberry and black cherry and bramble fruit. In the mouth its more red fruit focused with red currant and raspberry, vanilla and a touch of cranberry with a fair bit of tobacco and leather - good structure and a fine finish of cinnamon and oak. • DV - Triton Tridente is from Zamora, a little west of Toro. It's dry and hot, kind of like south CA. The wines from Toro are usually bigger and more rustic than those from Rioja - the idea is to tame the bull (Toro) and Zamora is like the kid brother of Toro. The Termanthia is one of the three or four best wines from Toro, but it's not like Rioj... Read More

  • Evans Tate & Breathing Space Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc 2012

    Melon and citrus aromas are light but pleasant, with mostly honeydew, lemon and clementine leading the charge. Flavors are fresh and grassy, lemon lime and more melon flavors are driving with some herbal notes to follow, mostly bay leaf and a touch of basil. Acidity is not overwhelming but certainly present. Clean, nice wine. Read More
