Western Australia Wine

Western Australia is the largest independent state and wine region within Australia, and the second largest in the world. It covers roughly 1000 square miles in any direction. Due to its size, it boasts quite the array of climate and topographical growing conditions.

Since a good portion of the state is very hot and humid, the regions tend to cluster around the south western areas where the weather is cooler and more temperate. Near the state capital Perth there is the Swan District, Perth Hills and Peel. Around the south coast it ranges from  Pemberton to Albany. And along the cool southern end of Geographe Bay (Margaret River and Geographe), with the inland Blackwood Valley.

The regions within Western Australia are:
