  • I'm getting back in the groove, here.It was too much fun meeting Darrin and Zuf in Victoria.  I am really glad that we were able to make it happen.  I thought that Burrowing Owl Syrah was very good. And, thank you, very much, for lovely parting gift.  Sadly, it is very difficult for me to find BC wines here in SoCal.And, yes, we were able to wal... • Zuf and EMark and Mrs Emark and myself had a nice little meet-up downtown Victoria yesterday.I took off work early and Zuf took the ferry over from Vancouver in the morning.  We had Happy Hour at Ferris' Oyster Bar.  The wine list was poorly represented by BC, save for the "house" red and white, which I said probably is mediocre.  So, we ordered... • BTW, I just had to open the Alliance 2006.  It does not disappoint, and ... 2009 at the restaurant in Victoria, this wine is about the same quality... perhaps slightly more interesting, if also less dense. An interesting trip down BC Wine memory lane.  Not many from this era are left. The 2006 is a Charles Herrold wine, while the 2009 is likely... Read More

  • The Warrenmang winery is producing some fantastic wines - Luigi is the founder, vintner, and chef at the winery. If you have a chance to stop there, plan on a meal and spending the night - enjoying the wines while overlooking the vineyards - it is magic!
