Clare Valley is a wine region within the Lofty Ranges of the South Australia zone. Its history dates back to the 1840s when vines were first imported to the country for planting. Now this picturesque area is a prime tourist destination, with many wineries along the “Riesling Trail” wine train route open to the public.

Many of the vineyards are situated on higher levels of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Warm summer days and cool nights are ideal for maximum grape ripening. The Rieslings grown are therefore very complex, with good acidity and often cellar-worthy. Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are also very well respected from the area.
