Clare Valley ; Mclaren Vale Wine
Really, really nice for the price paid. Deep dark purple in appearance, bold dark fruit, licquorice and mint in taste but not too heavy at all. This is not what I was expecting from a CabSav at all but this tastes as good as a wine 2 or 3 times the pri...

Being one of the largest privately owned winery, Scotchman’s Hill is one of the best wine producers of the Bellarine Peninsula, just 30 mins out of Geelong (about 90 mins from Melbourne). It produces quality, cool climate wine but not just with fruit grown off their 250 hectares of largely fertile volcanic soils of black clay with basalt. Their ... Read More
Peter Lehmann Drawcard Shiraz Mataro 2010 AUD$25. This is the first time I have seen this label from PL, and thought it reasonably priced to warrant a go. It pours a crimson black colour with a dark ruby rim, and boasts an attractive, medium weighted nose of violets and blackcurrant fruit. The aromas are clean, with no distractions in the backgr... Totally agree with JPike - nonsensical grouping of widely separated wine regions! Anyone know how to get Snooth admins to fix this?
Many articles have been written about great regions - many intersesting discussions on Snooth.I am passionate about my region and I love the great wines we produce but I love to experiment! [with wine.....] and I want to hear about what is - in the minds of the locals - what represents the best of the best you have tried from your local world.Bu... Read More

Why is Clare Valley and McLaren in the same group? Surely each of them warrant their own?? Plus there is about 250km, Adelaide and the Barossa between them!!
Really, really nice for the price paid. Deep dark purple in appearance, bold dark fruit, licquorice and mint in taste but not too heavy at all. This is not what I was expecting from a CabSav at all but this tastes as good as a wine 2 or 3 times the price so this represents exceptional value. Read More
In case you missed our latest email.Australian Shiraz has had a tough time of it lately. Many fine and historic wines have been pushed to the back burner as inexpensive private labels designed for the American Market have captured an ever increasing share of the demand for Shiraz. Its a shame that people have painted Shiraz with such a broad bru... Read More
