What wine pairs with Mongolian BBQ?
Going to a local Mongolian BBQ restaurant tonight with some friends, wondering what wine to bring along. I know people often pair Chinese with spicier whites, would the same go here?
Yep. Spicy whites are great with this, as are sparkling. But since it's winter, maybe try a lighter red, like a Beaujolais, (Morgon, Brouilly, Fleurie, etc), Pinot Noir or Arbois. Rioja can sometimes match these flavors pretty nicely too, since some of them have this cola-like taste that likes the sauce and the meat. If all else fails, there's always Tsing Dao beer.

Barbera. Sobon Estates 20010 Amador County.
Spice to compete with BBQ. Fruit fit in with the the sweetness.
Gold medal @$15 total wine.
