What do you know about the Southern Regions of Portugal? Algarve? Antelejo?
My husband and I are spending our 1 year wedding anniversary in the Souther region of Portugal. We have dabbled a bit with port and visited port and my husband loves the desert wine. However, apart from Vinho Verde, I have little experience with Portugese wines. I've heard mixed reviews and am currently digging the archives of snooth for their Portguese wine peices I remember gracing my e-mail box. We are visiting in November. Anyone been to the Algarve or Antelejo and enjoyed a wine experience there I need or want to know about????
Hi, i'm from Portugal and if you are going to the Algarve you must visit Quinta do Barranco Longo and Quinta dos Vales!
They both are beatifull places and the wines are great. You will certainlly love it there.
If you go to Alentejo, a must see is Herdade do Esporão with over 600h of vineyards, Quinta da Malhadinha Nova, a wonderfull spa, with some great wines... Also try the Fundação Eugenio de Almeida, home of the great Pera Manca...
I think you will have no trouble having a nice wine experience in Portugal, for it's a country with very good and diversified offers in terms of wines, and the people off course are great!
