Can you smell Tannins???
I was giving notes on a heady red and said it has tannins on the nose...counteracted by "You can't smell tannins"
From our understanding, technically this is true -- you cannot "smell" tannins--but people do associate tannins with aromas like leather and oak. So basically you are saying "from these aromas, I'm expecting to get tannins in the flavor profile."
I hope this helps!
