Are there Fabulous wines that you enjoy drinking under $15:00 - If so, would you share your findings?
I find it real easy to find a bottle of wine that I enjoy if I am able to pay $25:00 to $75:00 - However, when I am standing in between the wine isles, trying to decide which bottle I want to buy for my drinking that afternoon or that night, I find myself not knowing what to buy, if I want an out of the ordinary good bottle of wine, under $15:00 Any advice? As far as what I enjoy: I like a dry wine, I am not very much into sweet white wines. I love a pepperty Zinfandel, A robust Cabernet.....but, I take things within context, i.e. if I pay $12:00 for a bottle of wine, obviously, I do not expect for it to be along the lines of a robust Cabernet that cost me $75:00.
However, I KNOW for a fact that there have got to be plenty of wines that are fabulous whithin their own right, under the $15:00 mark. Would you like to share your ideas.
Thanks and have a Terrific 2012
Some of my favorites in this price range:
- Columbia Crest H3 Horse Heaven Hills - both the Merlot and the Cab. The Cab was rated 90 points by Wine Spectator and was one of their Top 100 Wines of 2010
- Norton Reserva Malbec
- Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells Cab

Here are some of my favorites in that price range..
Wolf Blass Shiraz (sometimes the gold label is on sale in the 15 dollar area)
Bogle Petite Sirah
Greg Normam Shiraz
If your REALLY broke, try IL BASTARDO sangiovese, Very nice for the sub 10 dollar price..
There are others to be sure, but that is a great shopping list and a few great nights of tastings :)
