"I don't think a fruity zin needs to breath unless it had firm tannins in which case it would not have fruity characteristics. If the wine is "tight", a zin should round out in an hour or so after decanting. But it all depends on the vintage. "

@DaveD, I like your fish! Very unique art piece and is made even more special when made with corks from wines you enjoyed.
I find Chiantis to be a bit on the lighter side. Not always what you want. Good with most pizza though!
I have a fabulous wine fridge where I keep my reds. This one I just use for my daily whites. Interesting that you ask about their drinkability though, I had to dump one the other day. i wrote it...
