Maybe not as amazing as the Masseria, but I still like it a lot. would be a great, not too overpowering food wine for a less powerful dish. nice dark plums and balanced acidity.

Castello Monaci Maru Negroamaro 2007

Starting at $11.99 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

mimics a pricier bordeaux; well-balanced with a nice dark palate of licorice and herbs

Seghesio Family Vineyards Zinfandel Home Ranch 2008

Starting at $28.99 Snoothrank: 4/5

very tight at first, even with decanting. began to open up later. much better the second day, with oaky depth and some nice herbal notes, but still not enough to blow me away.

Rosenblum Cellars Syrah England-Shaw 2005

Starting at $24.02 Snoothrank: 3.5/5
