Maybe not as amazing as the Masseria, but I still like it a lot. would be a great, not too overpowering food wine for a less powerful dish. nice dark plums and balanced acidity.
mimics a pricier bordeaux; well-balanced with a nice dark palate of licorice and herbs
it was okay. nice fig/prune notes. a little too gummy or sugary in the middle for me. better on day two.

Oh, one I loved from CA is Cameron Hughes Napa Valley Merlot, Lot 79, at about $12. That may be hard to find, but Cameron Hughes, if you can find them at Costco or whatever, has done some nice...
