A wine lover since a bicycle trip through Bordeaux some years ago. I feel I have 'discovered' a good new wine region in Baja California. I am a film technician by trade with a developing hobby rooted in wine consumption. All puns intended.

Who has tried the deep reds and bright structured whites of this region? There is a wine festival in Ensenada just an hour or so south of San Diego in August. I have become a big fan and promoter...

"well, I understand. I tried a variety of bottles from the region and they were not all good ones by a long shot.
Plus , a long time ago, the winemaking techniques were not nearly as advanced and careful as now.
Try to get hold of some Santo Tomas, or Monte Xanic wines from recent vintages."

"Juabren, visit the Wine Bank in San Diego.
They have been my source, even though I live in Minnesota. My brother in law took me to Ensenada and I tried many of the vineyards. You are right about Gran Ricardo...now you must find Casa de Piedra."
