I knew I'd seen another cool Aperol recipe lately, and just tracked it down-- a creation of the brilliant Gary Regan. The Interesting Cocktail Created by Gary Regan, 2007. 2 ounces Don...

I'm an Aperol fan, and first had it at the home of American friends in Germany, where .5 oz or so in a glass of prosecco was quite trendy. I love that, and have introduced lots of folks to...

"Greetings-- I just stumbled on this really interesting piece in the UK's "The Guardian," about Miguel Torres:

Got this at my excellent neighborhood shop (http://www.thecellars.com/ in Shorewood MN) for $8.97, on sale (orig. $16). Perfectly fine for $9, but I would've been disappointed at $16. Light,...

"Thank you so much for your comments about your wine migraines and the wine sleuthing that you have done - I have the same problem, and have reached the identical conclusion, for which I get derided. I still am not sure I know whether it is tannin or oak, but like you I stay away from the New World and tend to drink European old-style wines (as in, no labels with animals on them) with great pleasure. I too would love to see more analysis of this issue."

Delicious, friendly-- a great choice for a house red, and hard to imagine that anyone would not like it. Nice for solo drinking or even an aperitif, and a nice gentle food wine. A bit of black...

"Greetings-- I just posted a comment right below yours, regarding the vegetarian cookbooks for wine-lovers. I'm not sure if Snooth automatically notifies posters of further posts, so am just letting you know that I (lacto-ovo vegetarian since the early 80's) adore Paola Gavin's ITALIAN VEGETARIAN COOKING, which you can get here:

"Funny I was thinking of some producers, like Parducci and Pedroncelli, who are able to bottle some lovely wines at around $10. I need to check out the Parducci Pinot though. that sounds kind of interesting!"

I'm surprised to see positive reviews. I found this to be flabby and dull-- almost "cooked." A commercial comment above mentioned acidity-- I didn't detect any! I don't...
