"I don't know if you had noticed but I am on my way to Italy in 2 weeks. I have been invited to a seminar in Montefalco and I added 4 days in Tuscany. I'll be visiting producer in Chianti Nov 15 and 16 then Montalcino and Montepulciano the 17 and 18.

Very busy but very exciting as well."

"Yeah,

I absolutely need to do a better job proofing my docs. In all honesty I corrected the errors but must have not saved the corrected doc and then went back and cut and pasted the unrevised copy.

That will not happen again.

About those southern Italian wines. I find some of the same attitudes in the north, mostly among the older generation.

Lot's of people still view wine as something to be enjoyed but not thought about. Many nights I'm right there with them. Nights like that are perfect for some Salice.

The Cosimo Taurino Salice was my house wine for years. from the 1979 to 199 vintage I bought at least 5 cases a year to enjoy mid-week when I just wanted a glass of wine. The fact that the 1979 was $24 a case and the 1990 $60 on release certainly helped as well.

So how was Salento?"

It was a friends and family day - I wasn't taking notes beyond what was in my post: Between the three of us with glasses (€12) we tasted just about everything, including Candialle,...

Yes I got one from Eden24 also -

I just added this winery and wine - so I am assuming it probably is not available in the US. Really enjoyed this bottle - I may have the price off at around 23 euro a bottle as I picked it up...

Ansitz Pfitscher "Matan" Pinto Nero 2006

Starting at $32.71 Snoothrank: 3.5/5
afinta reviewed Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino 2000. (4.5/5)
On Apr 15

Had a bottle of this vintage last week. It is other worldly at the moment. My only concern was the state of the bottle as I got it at a small enoteca that I know has changed hands. It was a...

Thought this was an excellent bottle of Prosecco - nice citrus flavors, good acidity, clean and fresh. Maybe I like it more than some of the other reviewers here due to the fact that I got it at a...

Nino Franco Prosecco Rustico Sparkling Veneto NV

Starting at $17.95 Snoothrank: 3.5/5
On Apr 1

The wine was a beautiful color in the glass - clear ruby to sapphire. I could't get much of the nose. A little light and thin in the mouth. Complex, refined flavors, cherries dominate but the...

Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico Riserva 2000

Starting at $31.68 Snoothrank: 3/5
On Apr 1

I was more than pleasantly surprised by this wine. I decanted it for over an hour, and it was a beautiful, brilliant, bright and clear ruby-sapphire when poured. The nose was a little light (my...
