Wine Unfiltered reviewed Justin Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2007. (3/5)

Super concentrated. Defined vanilla and hint of oak on the nose with a distant rose petal. Decanting doesn't hurt it. Just enough tannin and lots of smooth black fruit. Very nice.

Plenty of fruit, blueberry, hint of cedar, tobacco and oak. Nice.

EOS Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Starting at $13.49 Snoothrank: 3/5

Showed its age in a good way. Blackberry, leather, cured meats, mocha and herbs. Solid tannins and smoky spice, oak and cedar. Midnight yummy.

Shockingly good for an '07, '08, '09 blend. Garnet red, with notes of chocolate, licorice, sweet oak, hint of vanilla, tart raspberry and fennel. Medium to full bodied with lively...

Never thought I'd have the word brilliant and Columbia Crest in the same sentence, but this isn't your CVS wine. Endlessly drinkable. Rich with viscous black fruit, smooth oak and smokey...

"Great! I was just going to start adding my wines today! The one that stood out was the '04 Hess Mount Veeder Cab Sauv. But I ended up tasting 12 other non-Hess wines. Don't know how that happened! Santa Barbara Vintners Festival starts on Friday for me, so I'll be going up and doing 12 wineries in 3 days! Should have lots of whites to enjoy since it going to be about 78 degrees! Glad to see it will be warming up back east any minute now!"

"So how was the Hess event? Too cold this past weekend to really enjoy the whites but it looks like 68 next saturday so if the sun is out it might be time for some shelfish and Sauvignon Blanc!"
