"And I did notice that there were a lot of posts under that article from avatars with that as their first or second posting. Combined with that post with the very quick and precise recommendations about retailers in the UK and Japan, the impression was clear that some people in the local industry were, indeed, 'rallying the troops.'"

"Yep, I mentioned some months ago in that GrandCru thread that some attention on the area would be good. Looks like the industry there is feeling a little underappreciated. Certainly better value than Napa/Sonoma, which is well popular in this economy, and the wines I mention are just plain good, though some of those mentioned in other posts aren't great, IMO. I haven't tasted enough of them, though, and look forward to imbibing more. Certainly a better lake of wines from there than from, say, N.Z.

One of the costs of Snooth's increased exposure these days, I suppose. But should be fine if you follow up with something on Oregon. Then Washington, too, I would think. Probably best to separate the two since there's so much to cover these days. Shouldn't be all that difficult to do in a way that doesn't look like you've been browbeaten into it...."

"Philip, when I saw your post about having Oregon vintners send you samples, I thought of that movie, Bottle Shock, I think? Is that a big concern? Myself, I had Airlie ship a case of Pinot, Riesling, and Muller Thurgau to meet me in Ohio (my native state) for vacation a couple of years ago. I didn't notice any ill effects, but that may just be my only-mildly-educated palate. What are your thoughts on the impact of shipping wines? Thanks, Joe"
