MikeDub reviewed Duckhorn Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2005. (2.5/5)
On Oct 30

Underperforms for a $50 bottle. There's nothing here that you can't get from any decent $20 Napa Valley Cab, or from Duckhorn's entry-level wine, Decoy. Not bad, just...

Duckhorn Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Starting at $65.99 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

A very good, if atypical Barossa Shiraz. Blueberry and bitter chocolate spar on the nose, with some nice spice notes and earthy leather underneath it all. This one opens up slowly, and is actually...

MikeDub reviewed Block 906 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia . (3.5/5)
On Aug 24

Quite good pinot, with distinctive fruit and a hint of floral notes. Solid and good. Not quite as good as a Russian River Pinot, but a decent buy for approx. $20 at Specs in Austin.

Block 906 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia

Starting at $27.99 Snoothrank: 3/5
MikeDub reviewed Jaffe Estate Transformation 2005. (4.5/5)
On Aug 4

Lush, fruity and complex. Spices and hints of earth on the nose. Huge on the palate, explosively flavorful and long lasting. Expensive, but worthy.

Jaffe Estate Transformation 2005

Starting at $52.99 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

Damn near perfect syrah. Intense earth and smoke give a real sense for the terroir of the Sierras. All the wines that Terre Rouge make are great, but this one is especially fantastic. Sure to...

Terre Rouge Syrah Shenandoah Valley "Sentinel Oak" 2002

Starting at $35.00 Snoothrank: 3.5/5
