Greg speaks the truth, there are countless wines in the high 80's which are scored that are excellent. Here is a perfect example, an aged Bordeaux that Parker first rated a 57 then a 68...
Flandry, SAv Blanc does work well, in fact most wines works well except for latest vintages cabernet or merlot based wines. If you have some aged ones such as bordeaux it would work as well.
"OK, based upon what we spoke of at PDH, if you recall, we need to do an aged Barolo tasting. Would you be up for doing this at SNooth, I am thinking that either a SUnday or we could something similar to what we did at that restaurant in the West Village. Do you want to include food or just wine? Thoughts?? Also would you want to publicize on the other boards or just here?

hmmm.. need to see how late the wife is working.
Tannic and structured but nothing came together in time. Could be shut down??
Spicy to moderate finish- very astringent and highly acidic, still apparent after an hour or two.
Long and spicy finish, leathery with some cloves very complex, (this is the second label of La Vielle De Cure)

"Having some folks over this evening from 7-9 for a very casual Snooth Sauvignon Blanc tasting.
No schedule folks can come and go as they please. 3 bonus bottles will also be opened, cab, pino and a white blend, just for fun.
If you are interested in coming just let me know.

Opened for one hour and then poured. Nothing really going on at first but then after another hour of air time, the aromas and tastes became apparent. Needs more time in the cellar. THis is...

Nice caramel color some boytritis and wood on the nose. I was hoping for some almond flavors but it fell rather flat on the palate. Could be past its prime.
