What was the Rioja? For reasonably priced Tempranillo, I dig the 2004 Lan Riserva. It's got nice fruit/earth/acid for around twenty bucks.

I am a medical librarian at a community hospital in N. Central Mass, whose working hours were recently downsized.I accepted a part- time position at a local wine store in Burlington, MA, and recently received my Mass. Servers License. I did my first wine tasting four weeks ago, and found a moderately priced Spanish Rioja that was a very pleasant surprise to me, that I recently reviewed on Snooth. As I gain more confidence in my presenting skills, I will be adding other wines from local tastings in my area.

I am always on the lookout for moderately priced wines that can be enjoyed at home, among friends for dinner or wine and cheese get-to-gethers.

I tend to lean toward reds, and recently we had a super mega tasting of 40 wines, tequila, and beer and food pairing. Two wines stood out from this tasting with drew over 200 people to our wine store, aI will present and next week I will present the names of our two winners when I get the final sales figures from that weekend tasting."
