"Thanks for the advice! That seems to be the best route to go-trying lots of wine & thats what i've been doing. I've been reading a lot & any new wine I read about, I write down & eventually find it & try it. I find it to be very enjoyable. "

"Sounds lushy, but just drink lots of wine, all the time. Lots of tastings. I've found that wine is very very personal, and although I wont' go above $40 per bottle I think there are great loving wines under $20. Consistent wineries are also hard to find that consistently produce favorite wines so have to wade through a few vintages. "

I'd second the Trader Joes recommendation by D9sus4, if there is one nearby. Just start trying them, start with "2buck chuck" (if its still around, I might be dating my self) and...

I can almost give it a three. Its nothing special, but I am getting into box wines now because we can't recycle glass, and the amount of wine I drink keeps me going to the dump to regularly....

Shirazs for me anyway are always soo incredibly variable, and hit or miss. This one is good, well balanced, nice finish, but nothing special. Nice oakiness with the spine of a shiraz for drinking...

This is very near what I really like out of a Zin. Lots of fruit, not overly sweet, and kick, kick you butttom. Really digging Amador Co wine, can't wait to do a tasting tour there.

This is really for the 2006 vintage. Nice well rounded supple French wine, for a good price, I think I had to pay around $10

"How I ended up in Palmer, that's easy, her name is Susie. But we're surrounded by fish, and I am active in a new group called the MatSu Salmon Conservation Partneship, which is a National Habitat Initiative sponsored group dedicated to, well salmon habitat conservation. Lots of salmon and trout around here."
