zinfandel1

Location: Sterling, CT

I got into wine about 50 years ago. Started with French wines and in the mid-seventies got into California wine. And now I am a fan of almost every popular wine region.

A nice every day affordable red blend. The fruitiness of the Zin and the peppery notes of the syrah are up front. All the bases are covered. Have this with burgers, steak, pasta and meatballs.

A very big buttery chard. Nice straw color. On the nose a hint of grapefruit!, some vanilla and a hint of oak. The legs are slow. On the palate again some grapefruit with a hint of lemon, some nice vanilla with ever so slight touch of oak. The rather high alcohol content never shows through all these wonderful flavors. I savor the medium to long finish

Nice crimson color. some dried berry fruit and dark plum on the nose. Really nice mouth feel with medium tannins with dark fruits abound. This merlot has beautiful structure and ends with a medium finish. Washington state has its act together when it comes to Merlot.

Color is inky. Aroma of some cherry and plum. On the palate I pick up some dark cherry and plum along with the slightest hint of wood at the back of the palate. Hardly any tannin. A short to medium finish. Nicely complemented our homemade stew which had the same wine in it.

Light straw color with slight hint of greenish hues. Aroma is flowery with granny smith apple. On the palate there is some mineral, dry but soft and very fresh with some nice fruit in the background. The finish is on the short side. This is my first exposure to the Cortese Grape and I find it interesting.

Pale yellow with a lot of fruit aroma such as melon, pear, apple with a hint of apple pie spice. On the palate all the fruit that was picked up on the aroma were definitely present on the palate. A light to medium finish. A very soft wine that may show too much fruit for some people. Very enjoyable both with light food dishes or on its own.

Very dark in color. The nose was of dark fruits and hints of black pepper. Some veggie notes. Tannins still present but fairly mild. A very nice medium finish. Nice example of Syrah.

A deep red color very bright. The bouquet cherry and red berry with a hint of oak. The taste was mouth filling and crisp. Flavors of cherry, red berry, and way in the background was a hint of oak. A light to medium finish.

Pale color. Aroma of faint apple, pear and mostly melon. All of these aromas are very faint. On the palate I pick up these same flavors and some tannins that are very soft. The finish is rather short. This wine is soft and is easy drinking.
