Added Oct 29, 2012 at 6:48amThis has everything going for it. I call this my week night port because of the low price. Aroma of overly ripe dark fruit, cherries, and a hint of chocolate. On the palate I get a spiceyness, ripe fruit, some chocolate and an earthiness background. A bit too sweet which gives it a cloying finish. Sip it slowly for maximum enjoyment.

Added Oct 28, 2012 at 3:38pmBought this wine when I was visiting in Florida. Totally forgot about it until now. A light straw color, aroma of tropical fruits with orange and melon more dominate. On the palate the fruits came out but were muted. Because of the color, I was looking for oak but it wasn't there. Enough acid makes this a nice food wine but can do well on its own. I thought I was drinking a more expensive Chardonnay.

Added Oct 25, 2012 at 7:29amLIGHT YELLOW COLOR. ON THE NOSE CITRUS FRUITS WITH A SLIGHT HINT OF LEMON PEEL ALONG WITH A SLIGHT WISP OF ASSORTED FLOWERS. ON THE PALATE I CAN PICK OUT VARIOUS CITRUS FRUITS INTEGRATED WITH VERY LIGHT OAK AND SOME VANILLA. A NICE FINISH, THIS WINE STILL HAS A LOT OF LIFE LEFT.

Added Oct 23, 2012 at 9:15amNice color and muted fruit on the nose along with hints of damp straw. Upon tasting, I notice refined tannins which hold together the dark fruits, vanilla, light touches of oak and a definite earthiness. The wine in my opinion is perfectly structured and has a finish that goes on forever. Year after year the "ELOGE" becomes more refined than the previous year.

Added Sep 19, 2012 at 2:22pmthis is 55% cab. sauvignon and 45% cab franc. Shows great color and has an aroma of red berries and freshly cut plums. The cab sauvignon somewhat dominates the palate but in a very smooth way caused by the cab franc. There is interplay between the cabs. Picking up a little oak, vanilla, light tannins and good acidity. This wine drinks well both on its own or with food. A moderate finish.

Added Oct 10, 2012 at 12:39pmLight spring floral on the nose. On the palate you can actually taste the chardonnay grape without being masked by oak. A joy to drink with a nice finish. Nothing is overpowering in this wine.

Andrea Oberto Barolo 2005Compare and Buy
Average Price: $38.32
Added Oct 11, 2012 at 6:58amI thought this Barolo would be too tannic because it is fairly young. This was not the case. Color was vivid and the aroma showed some dark fruits and a hint of dried straw. On the palate some dark fruit and a definite zestyness. Nicely layered with several flavors appearing at different stages. A very faint hint of sweetness almost like hard candy crossed my palate for a split second and then disappeared. The tannins were medium and just enough to hold everything together. Fantastic structure with a nice finish.

Added Oct 21, 2012 at 9:01amMerlot based bordeau. Great color and was a very young 2005 with lots of life left. Aroma of dark fruits and an earthy dampness. On the palate some dark fruit and hints of cherry along with that earthy dampness that was evident on the nose. The tannins were subtle. So easy to drink. My only regret was that the finish was rather short.
