I once had a pompous boyfriend who made a Very Big Deal about the release of Beaujolais nouveau every year. Say it with me, W h a t e v e r ...The Volcanique is a truly impressive expression of Gamay. White pepper tickles your mouth while humble raspberry and woody herbs round out the finish.

    woogapdx's Review:

Sometimes nostalgia is the strongest flavor, with the longest finish. Dry, balanced and even, not yeasty. It was served with warm, serrano wrapped figs. That was a nice combo.

    woogapdx's Review:

This magic Malbec manages to please both the novice drinker who insists she prefers "something sweet" and the sophisticate who enjoys "something interesting." Wish I'd gotten a case.

    woogapdx's Review:

As someone who is just beginning learning wines, it's interesting and useful for me to taste a wine and feel the tastes like music, first one note, then another, then another. What I love about this wine is I get the notes all at once, like a chord, and it works. It's perfect.

Thanksgiving wine weekend 2005, my wine ah-ha moment. This is the one that made my spine tingle and my heart sigh: Wow, I didn't know it could be like this. The mouthfeel was pure honey, with a long varied finish. Well-balanced, golden almost apricot color.

    woogapdx's Review:

I think this is a fun wine to test/train a beginning palate because the different flavors are so distinct and offer an immediate reward. Saying a wine is floral is one thing, but sticking your nose in a rose is another. For me, this wine hit me hard with rose and black licorice. Still looking for food pairing ideas, suggestions?

Sweet strawberries hit first & hard but vanish in a dry, herbal finish. Favorite rose of the summer!
