Awesome blend. Something different every sip and smell. Nice pepper from the Zin grape, but a wonderful marriage of grapes from Oregon.

Wow. One of my favorite Italian wines, period. Drank one and put one away for a year or so..can't wait to open it for a great drink then.

After reading about Beaujolais I tried this vintage on a hot summer night. I did not chill it (like I should and will next time), but I did find this wine very refreshing with some real backbone too. I will be keeping a few bottles on hand for the rest of the summer months.

    vino83's Review:

I enjoyed several and I mean several glasses of this great Cali Zin last night. The first glass I had was from the bar and actually listed as an Italian wine. This was almost right considering the Grazanio family now in Cali was originally from Italy. The glass from the bar was the best of the night considering it had been open for a few days and had plenty of time to breath. This was a dark purple/red with nice red fruits and soft tannins.

    vino83's Review:

White peach is what I remember most from a tasting with Mr. gerin himself. This was by far my favorite of the white wines we tasted that evening. The white peach on the nose was very nice, but I remember the wine was not overly sweet on the tounge overall.

    vino83's Review:

This was recommended by a gentleman at The Wine Bar in Montalcino. I was eyeing the Sassicaia, but was moved to the Rosso di Clausura instead. This was one heck of a tasting for 3.5 Euros or 35 Euros a bottle. I wish I would have bought one now as I cannot find this great Wine Bar anywhere online. The Sassicaia would have been nice to taste as well. What I remember from the Clausura is how it did not resemble wine at all, but really more food than wine. What a great wine to taste...top 3 for me so far.

I drank a bottle of this Rhone Valley treat with a good friend of mine recently and was very impressed. I found this on a massive wine list a social club I am a member of has currently. I believe the club price was $38/bottle, but well worth it in my opinion. This had a dark red color with similar dark fruit and a touch of pepper from what I recall. This blend matched perfected with the seared scallops and Canadian bacon we were snacking on at the time.

I enjoyed this bottle with a fine bone-in-ribeye and it was a perfect compliement. I am new to Rhone Valley wines, but this one is a the top of my list so far!

In July of 2008 I had the chance to drink this great CCR at the vineyards of the Ricasoli family. I tasted the white label Classico and while it was fine it showed no match to the blue label 2005 CCR. I look forward to comparing the Ricasoli to some other good Chiantis to see how it holds up.
