Very pleasant Rully from Vincent Girardin. Mostly lemon on the nose with more lemon/lemon peel on the palate. Not overly complex but clean tasting with crisp acidity and a medium mouth cleansing finish.

This is a really enjoyable Paso Rhone blend from Tablas Creek. Loads of ripe dark berries and cherries on the nose. This is followed up with a lot more of the same on the tongue along with some earthiness, a touch of leather, decent acidity and some slightly grainy tannins that should resolve nicely with just a bit of age.

This is an extremely enjoyable Italian chardonnay. This has some nice lemon peel on the nose. The flavor profile has the same along with lemon cream, a touch of green apple and just a hint of white pepper. This is fermented in stainless and concrete - no oak, so the acidity is right up front and the finish is medium long.

Nice, light, crisp and refreshing Gavi from Pio Cesare. The nose is light with a little funky lemon wax scent. On the tongue there's plenty of light lemon cream, not quite ripe pear and a bit of lemon grass. The acidity is medium plus and the finish medium minus. Not bad for a mid-week, summertime quaff.

Very nice but somewhat simple syrah from Mendocino. Black cherry and blackberry on the nose. Ripe black cherry and ripe plum on the tongue with medium acidity and a medium finish. Excellent wine for the wine club price.

For around $10 this is near the top of the QPR list. Plenty of citrus flavors, lemon, just a bit of white grapefruit, green melon, decent acidity and maybe even a hint of basil on the medium length finish.

Fascinating southern French (Ardeche) red made from the rare Chatus grape. The aromatics remind me of a GSM, ripe black cherry and a good bit of earthiness. There's plenty of ripe black and red fruit on the tongue along with leather, mushroom, oak and hint of black pepper. The tannins are quite drying but not grainy. The acidity is noticeable but restrained and the finish is medium in length.

Light gold in color, lemon cream and honeysuckle on the nose. Lemon chiffon, a hint of dried pineapple, green apple and under ripe peach. This has a somewhat creamy texture but crisp acidity and a very pleasant, clean, medium length finish. Extremely enjoyable!

Fairly simple but decent enough for a North Carolina red blend. Not much in the way of aromatics with just a hint of astringent earthiness. On the tongue there's some ripe black cherry, pencil lead and a touch of that same earth. Medium acid, fairly light on the tannins and a short finish.

Excellent zin from Mauritson's Rockpile vineyard. The nose is full of dark ripe berries and ripe plum. The palate is also loaded with ripe blackberry, black cherry, a touch of prune, just a hint of spicy smoke, nice acidity, finely grained tannins and a medium long finish.
