Added Jan 28 at 5:26pmDecent but not great sauv blanc late harvest dessert wine from Willamette Valley. There's some honey, apricot and a hint of butterscotch. This is somewhat sweet and syrupy and could use a touch of acidity to balance it out.

Added Jan 23 at 7:57pmVery nice young merlot based Bordeaux. Deep purple color, loads of dark berries, smooth and fine tannins and nice lingering finish. No hint of mustiness that you can get from some merlot, just a nice bit of freshness and a good touch of acidity.

Added Jan 21 at 7:52pmFairly heavy on the oak with not much else. Dense, creamy and oily with muted fruit and a touch of acidity on the finish.

Added Jan 20 at 6:34pmA tad on the sweet and syrupy side, with bright red cherries and some cotton candy. Medium to light body and medium to short finish. Reminds me a bit of a Nouveau Beaujolais but not as good.

Added Jan 19 at 9:58amVery nice Russian River Syrah. Dark fruits, prunes, black plums, raisin and some spiceness. This bottle tasted just a bit muted, the fruit kind of stayed in the background, guessing this needs a couple more years of rest before it shines.

Bouchaine Pinot Noir 2004
Added Jan 18 at 8:51amWas a bit hesitant opening this '04 Carneros pinot thinking it was probably well past its prime. After an hour in the decanter the flavors were somewhat muted but not bad or oxidized and there was a bit of acidity on the back end. After a bit more time and air this opened up very nicely with dark fruit, prunes, a touch of smoke and more of that nice acidity, in a very Burgundian fashion. Pleasantly surprised and extremely pleased.
