Added Feb 16 at 6:02pmNice, smooth, easy drinking port. Ripe plums, raisins, a hint of anise, low to medium tannins and a medium finish. This held up well over the course of two weeks.

Added Feb 13 at 8:46pmFairly big, fruity Paso (Templeton) pinot. There's a touch of smoke on the nose. On the palate there's dried strawberry, dark chocolate covered cherry, some decent acidity, fine grained tannins and a medium finish. This is a warmer climate wine, not your Burgundian or Oregon pinot. There's more of the darker berry fruit and a bigger body, but it's not overly extracted or jammy, just different.

Added Feb 12 at 7:58pmNot a bad tempranillo from the Valencia region of Spain (central east coast). For its age this is fairly light on its feet, not overly fruit forward but more earthy. There is some very ripe black cherry but more forest floor along with fairly pronounced grainy tannins. The acidity and the finish is medium.

Added Feb 11 at 7:46pmReally nice dry Italian white made from the Falanghina grape. Not much on the nose but the palate is lemon peel with a nice touch of salinity, medium acidity and a medium length finish. Overall, a very nice mid-week quaff.

Added Feb 9 at 8:06pmWonderful Paso Cab from Adelaida. Very well balanced (albeit young) with nice dark berry, green plum, a touch of mocha, refreshing acidity and an interesting trace of mint on the backend. Definitely has some more years to go.

Added Feb 9 at 7:17pmFairly basic and benign red blend from Napa. Pretty much one dimensional with black currant and ripe blackberry. Tannins are very light weight and the finish is fairly short - about what one would expect for the price, did well as a base liquid for beef stew.

Added Feb 6 at 6:52pmPretty good Willamette pinot. Bright red and crushed black cherry, nice acidity, a touch of smoke and a decent finish. The finish is of medium length and the tannins are a bit grainy for pinot.

Added Feb 5 at 7:40pmVery pleasant Carignane from Testa in Mendocino. There's crushed black cherry and a hit alcohol on the nose (even though it's only 13.7% abv). More black cherry on the tongue along with candied fig, the slightest hint of black licorice, lively acidity, medium fine tannins and a medium finish.

Added Feb 5 at 5:58pmInteresting Sardinian wine made from the Monica grape. A bit light on the nose but the palate is bright red and black cherry, a touch of cranberry, nice acidity, low to medium tannins and a medium finish.
Feb 4 at 6:14pm
Added Feb 4 at 6:14pmReal nice Mendocino muscat blanc. Fresh lemon citrus on the nose and creamy tangerine and apricot on the palate. Just a slight bit of sweetness on the front end that coats the tongue followed quickly by a nice bite of acidity and a medium length finish.
