Beautiful Spring Mtn. Vineyard cab blend (88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc). The perfume nose consists of cocoa powder and ripe raspberry. There's a tongue coating presence of red plum, raspberry, black licorice and tamarind balanced by prominent but fine grained tannin, medium (-) acidity, and a long finish.

Just a great Russian River Pinot from Moshin. This is not your sister's pinot, big and ripe but really well balanced. Ripe black cherries, strawberries and blackberries on the nose. On the tongue, more black cherry, leather, a touch of smoke, high but not over the top acidity, fine grain tannin, finish is medium long. Serious QPR here.

Hard to compare this to what we just experienced on our trip to Alsace last week but this isn't bad, more of a basic old vines Pinot Gris. Just a bit of residual sugar, ripe pear, lemon cream, medium acidity and a medium finish. Not overly complex with a somewhat viscous mouthfeel.

This is just a fantastic Italian white. Elisabetta makes some fantastic wines and this is just another great example. The color has a bit of a golden hue and the nose carries a bit of floral notes. The best part is the taste of honeysuckle, honey, lemon curd with a creamy and rich texture, decent acidity and a long finish. There is a lot going on with this wine, give it some time and you'll be very happy!

It looks like a rose but drinks more like a light red wine. Vibrant acidity, bright red cherry, peach jolly rancher, a bit of rhubarb and a fairly long finish. This is a Spanish blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Bobal and Albillo.

Really nice, food friendly Portugese white made up of viosinho, rabigato and malvasia. Lemon cream on the nose. Kind of creamy but not overly oaked or buttery. Decent amount of acidity, lemon cream, a touch of ripe pear, subtle herbal notes on the back end, and a medium finish. This went well with panko crusted snapper and roasted brussel sprouts.

This is just an excellent bottle of Santa Ynez Marsanne/Roussanne from Qupe. The nose is very distinctive, floral and reminiscent of freshly peeled clementine. For an '08 white, this is still very much alive and vibrant. Layers of orange zest, orange marmalade, apricot, ripe peach and a touch of salinity mix with medium plus acidity.

Very nice but not great Paso bordeaux blend from Adelaida. Subtle nose with a hint of mint and shoe polish. Not overly jammy, layered or fruity on the palate but a decent amount of black berries, tar and leather. The tannins are fairly fine grained with a bit of grip, medium acidity and a medium long finish.

Bright and savory sangio from Carr Vineyards out of Santa Ynez. Ripe black cherry on the nose. Fresh ripe blackberry, black cherry and a touch of leather in the mouth. The tannins are still young a bit tight and grippy but not off putting. This has medium acidity and a medium long finish.

Really excellent Carneros albarino from Bedrock/Abrente. There's some salinity that goes along with the lemon zest, mouth watering acidity, key lime pie, a hint of hazelnut and a bit of apricot. The finish is medium long. I'm guessing folks are drinking this too cold, it significantly improved as it warmed up in the glass.
