Thick dark purple in the glass. Nose or dark ripe fruit, smokey black pepper, leather, spices, caramelized sugar, dusty wood, branches and bark. Palate is broad yet full of concentrated black berry and pronounced tannin that sings. Jammy notes give way to chocolate and an earthy, herbal and concentrated fruit finish that lingers so nicely. PJG: 91 (275 views) Tasted by jspostles on 8/31/2012 & rated 93 points: Really nice petite...popped and poured - 30 minutes later: voila! (480 views) Tasted by cbbrown3 on 8/24/2012 & rated 91 points: This was decanted for about an hour. The wine is a deep, dark purple color. There are blackberries, black pepper, smoke, licorice, dark chocolate, dried herbs, underbrush, and some earthiness on the dark and pleasing nose. This is medium to full body with fairly solid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. There is a lot of fruit and spice on the palate with just a bit of earthiness coming in on the back end with dark chocolate and black pepper. Nice length on the finish where the dark chocolate really kicks into high gear. This is very young but already very nice. (569 views) Tasted by Ceo on 5/31/2012 & rated 94 points: This wine is showing well after a venturi and decant. It is young but it will be even better in a few years. Hard to beat Girard P.S.!! Drinking window: Drink by 2014 (based on 1 user opinion) Community Tasting History Community Tasting Notes (average 89 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 25 notes) - hiding notes with no text Tasted by Mbressack on 10/15/2012: Straw and lemony nose. Light, grassy. Good finish. Tart back end. I taste "green" (236 views) Tasted by GoBlue2002 on 9/22/2012 & rated 92 points: Slightly light in color for a burgundy, with powerful aromas of green apple, peach, citrus, lemon peel. Quite elegant and much better than expected. The finish was long yet simple, with grace. Dinner @ John & Tiffany's, note recorded a week late. (544 views) Tasted by hoservin on 8/25/2012 & rated 89 points: Green apple, floral, citrus, and vanilla aromas. Apple, citrus, and buttery notes on the palate lead to a medium length, crisp finish. Well balanced. Paired with marinated, grilled chicken. (759 views) Tasted by tantotinto on 7/7/2012 & rated 88 points: Tight nose. Flint, smoke, lemon and apple flavours. Tart finish. Good and a good value. (1305 views) Tasted by Anonymous on 5/10/2012: Tasting at Domaine Chandon de Briailles and Maison Jadot (Savigny-lès-Beaune and Beaune): Aromas jump from the glass, crisp, minerally, medium finish. Very nice if not special (1545 views) Tasted by cartime on 4/9/2012 & rated 90 points: Very nicely balanced and drinking great right now. A great value and a perfect mid-week food wine. Lemon, green apple, and stony minerals with terrific acidity. As an aside, I've been really impressed with 2010 Macon. I'm hoping the vintage character carries over into the Cote d'Or. Not as ripe and blowsy as many 2009's, but not as austere and much more approachable at this stage than the 2008's were. Just a fantastic balance of fruit and acidity. (1785 views) Tasted by BSZach1 on 1/22/2012 & rated 89 points: Excellent wine - nice mix of fruit and minerals. (1917 views)

Drinking window: Drink between 2011 and 2016 (based on 3 user opinions) Community Tasting Notes (average 89.4 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 17 notes) - hiding notes with no text Tasted by Ed B on 10/9/2012 & rated 89 points: Decanted thru screen for 60 minutes. Deep, dark ruby/purple. Plum with anise and hints of mid-east spices. Medium finish. Held up well to steak and bake potatoes. Nice but sort of one dimensional. Note sure if more age will do any good. (298 views) Tasted by atwkite on 12/12/2011 & rated 88 points: Not good, out of balance, tannic and bitter. Might need age or may never get there. (1934 views) Tasted by avp on 10/24/2011: Dark cherry and cassis on the nose with herbs, liquorice, chocolate, coffee and a good deal of smoked meat. Fullbodied palate showing decent structure: there's enough acidity to animate the fruit, but I'd sure like to see some more grip. Creme de cassis, leather and some cab lift towards the long finish of bright fruit and chocolaty oak notes. Quite nice for the style. So, don't hate the playa.. (1920 views) Tasted by MillenialWineGuy on 10/7/2011 flawed bottle: Corked (1857 views) Tasted by Otto Nieminen on 1/24/2011: This was by no means an elegant wine, and I will say it out right that I didn't really like this now. Yet this was a welcome change to the few other Americans we have seen here. The scent is very ripe, full of very dark fruit, but instead of being harsh and woody (this sees "only" 38% new wood) this is full of sweet aromas and some cigar box savoriness. Very full bodied, very sweet fruit, but unlike previous Cabs we have seen, this does have enough tannin and acidity to keep it all together. In other words, there is a perverse kind of balance in this wine: there is for my tastes too much wood, too much fruit, plenty of tannin and high acidity, yet all these elements are harmonious in relation to each other. Despite its size, it is rather refreshing so there is some moreishness to it. I would be intrigued to try this in five years or so if the elements I don't like would have faded by then. I can imagine that this is a pretty decent, fairly priced (by Finnish standards) Napa Cab for those who like such a big style. But for now at least, this isn't one for me. (2236 views) Tasted by J.L on 1/21/2011 & rated 90 points: For sure a bit young but anyway really enjoyable and well structured. A bit purple still but has a beautiful deep and dense color. On the nose very open and generous, as is the palate. Powerful rather than elegant. And I don't mind the price. (2186 views)

(662 views) Tasted by scotty_b on 8/24/2012 & rated 88 points: Tastes like a $20 cab. A little too fruit forward and oaky for me. Non-descript nose of blackberry and spice. Not particularly memorable. (1433 views) Tasted by garypn on 8/5/2012 & rated 89 points: Great napa cab for the price. Well balanced. Ready to drink now. (1440 views) Tasted by vin0vin0 on 7/28/2012 & rated 90 points: Very nice well balanced cab with plenty of dark red fruit, soft tannins and a long silky finish. Great value at $25. (1532 views) Tasted by WineJunkieWest on 7/22/2012 & rated 86 points: So many wines that are far superior at this price point. Thin, smooth wine. Not very complex. Will not buy again! (1576 views) Tasted by Bruinz on 6/16/2012 & rated 89 points: Great day wine hints of black pepper with a deep cherry and currant base. Solid, crisp finish. Excellent sip for the price point. (1874 views) Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 6/6/2012 & rated 89 points: This deep-to-opaque ruby wine was popped and poured, then serially tasted over two hours. The nose shows moderately intense aromas of cassis, tree bark and lavender. Medium-bodied on the palate, with low acidity, medium supple tannins and well-integrated alcohol (which is listed as 14.3%). The flavors are black fruit-dominated and the mouth texture is silky. A solid middle palate leads to a medium-length, smooth finish. This is a crowd pleasing "easy-drinker" and (especially at this price point) would be a great selection for a walk-around party. Drink now-12/15. (2145 views) Tasted by wineglas on 5/12/2012 & rated 90 points: Nice base bottling with blueberries, minerals, oak and spice. Medium finish. Drink now through 2015. (2254 views) Tasted by Robert Pavlovich on 3/20/2011 & rated 88 points: Jammy and tannic, pretty good tasting fruit. 88-89 (2825 views)

Smooth, medium body and follow. Good tannins, just enough for meal. Overall a good wine. (125 views) Tasted by SMagowan on 10/14/2012 & rated 91 points: Open and let breathe for approximately 30 minutes. It showed nice lines in the glass, and exhibited a nose of cassis, methol, a hint of mint and dark chocolate. On the tongue this was nicely integrated with quite delicious tannins and a toach of oak, black cherry and licorice. Enjoyed with a grilled ribeye, roasted bell peppers and steamed broccoli. I was pleasantly surprised with this; a good QPR and cellar protector. (148 views) Tasted by PinotAge-Weetree on 7/23/2012 & rated 90 points: Approachable. Clean, smooth and easy drinking. I would not call this serious, but it is easily identifiable as a California cab, and that can't be a bad thing, I say!!! Break it out for guests and it'll be a huge hit. If you have a wine geek friend, I'd break out something a bit more serious, like a 2006 Ramey Napa. Nice vanilla imparted with the oak, which is not overdone. The fruit is a bit over ripe, but again, welcome to Californy. After a couple hours of air it opens up to cedar and black cherries. The finish is fine, but I wish it were a bit longer. You could do much worse at the $20 tariff. Goes great with any steak or cheddar cheese. Napa, Cab, $20, what could go wrong here? Not much. Enjoy with gusto! (604 views) Tasted by admirera on 7/20/2012: This is one of our favorites 90+ in our book (584 views) Tasted by chanote44 on 4/20/2012 & rated 89 points: This is a great Napa Cab for $20. It delivers on the cassis, vanilla and oak all wrapped up in modern new world fruit. Don't hold too long. (994 views) Tasted by Stevecci on 3/1/2012 & rated 90 points: PnP. What a difference a week makes. Compared to the bottle from a week ago, this one has more tobacco, vanilla, oak, tannins, and density without all the alcohol. There is good structure and the flavors are better integrated. The finish is still a bit thin and short for my liking. A good deal @$20. (1132 views) Tasted by Stevecci on 2/24/2012 & rated 88 points: PnP. Vanilla, oak, spice, black cherry, black berries and raspberry are evident. There's good acidity but the alcohol is a bit overwhelming. Very little tannin on the palate. An hour in glass helped blow the alcohol off, but it lost a bit of its complexity and structure. The finish is also noticeably shorter than after the initial tasting. I recall this wine tasting much better a couple years ago. Could this be going through a dumb stage? Don't see this wine evolving or improving much more with time. Drink now after short decant. (1105 views) Tasted by egonx on 12/31/2011 & rated 90 points: Lots of everything. We were three friends sharing a botle and our ratiengs were 87-90-93. We agree that it could benefit from some rest in the cellar 1-5 years. A little herbal still, but day two was much better. Medium body, medium finish. Black fruit on the nose and through the palate with hints of mocha and chalk dust. Very raisin-y when first opened, but this blew off with the first glass. (724 views)
