Added Jul 29, 2008 at 12:18amVelvety. Unlike the winemakers notes, I did not taste a lot of spice (which I personally don't like a lot of)... the blackberry pie and casis was spot on. This bangs a ton of fruit, yet without being overpowering. Loved it.

Added Jul 29, 2008 at 12:06amFor the price, this syrah is fabulous. Tons of fruit, Zaca Mesa makes a very consistent Syrah. Berry, oak and vanilla.

Added Jul 29, 2008 at 12:01amTotally different than I would expect. Like a cross between a Pinot Noir and Syrah. Light enough for casual meals, but unique so your guests won't be able to put their finger on what they are drinking. I wouldn't drink this everyday, but I would enjoy it a couple of times a year.

Koehler Magia Nera 2003
Added Jul 29, 2008 at 12:00amGood blend. More California style than the drier Italian foods. Perfect for roasted meats and meat sauces.

Added Jul 28, 2008 at 11:40pmThe low rating by the poster before me must have been due to the price. This vintage was well balanced, smooth and everything i'd want from a full-bodied cab.

Added Jul 28, 2008 at 11:36pmI was really suprised by the texture and body of this cab. I had no idea it was an Oregon wine, tasted more like a big California Cab full of fruit and extremely smooth. I would definitely drink this again. We had it with lamb and it went perfectly.
