Sauvignon Blanc Trophy & Gold (Best in Class) - International Wine & Spirits Competition, London, 2009 This is an awesome wine, despite its obvious youthful immaturity. Almost colourless in the glass it releases a warm, penetrating and nostril filling bouquet displaying a wealth of varietal aromas such as green pepper, lime, asparagus and gooseberries, intense yet very stylish. Excellent concentration in the mouth, savoury sweet and sour, ample, with a backbone of sharp acidity and already achieving good balance and length. Silver (Best in Class) - International Wines and Spirits Competition, London, 2009 Pale straw with greenish flecks; aromas are very fresh and primary, dominated by white stone fruit and baker's yeast. In the mouth this works very well with the combination of peachy fruit, a touch of Madeira cake and gentle vinosity, already in fine balance and with a pleasant and delicate nutty finish. Appealing and very well made. (http://www.iwsc.net/product/view/28571/villa-maria-private-bin-pinot-grigio-2009)

Overflowing with aromas of gooseberry and passionfruit with hints of lime and nettles. The wine is mouth filling with vibrant fruit and mid palate richness, finishing rich and racy with excellent length and crispness.

GOLD @ the IWC for the 2008 Thornbury Sauv. Fantastic result! Grapefruit and asparagus nose. Very interesting, clean palate of nettles and gooseberry with a long finish, that's mineral and fruity. http://www.internationalwinechallenge.com/wine/124575/2009/Thornbury-Sauvignon-Blanc-2008.aspx
